Quick Answer

What drives the cost of wander management?

The short answer

Ask for wander management pricing against a defined schedule of monitored areas, devices, alert destinations and selected interfaces. Compare installation, configuration, acceptance checks and training separately from recurring support and replacement obligations. The proposal should state which assumptions remain subject to site assessment and qualified review; device count alone is not a complete scope comparison.

Separate coverage from optional integrations

Request a marked coverage plan and an explanation of what equipment serves each included area. Price proposed interfaces and any door-related work explicitly, with the appropriate qualified review identified. Do not treat a broad product label as evidence that all required alerts, reports or integrations are included in the quoted configuration.

Identify ongoing operating costs

  • Initial device quantities and the allowance for spares or replacement devices
  • Software, connectivity or interface charges where included in the selected design
  • Training sessions, acceptance documentation and repeat visits for phased work
  • Maintenance duties, batteries or charging equipment where applicable, and service coverage
  • Customer-supplied work, exclusions and the approval process for additional zones
