Minimum Wage & Prevailing Wage Policy
Entity: Nexuscomm LLC (d/b/a Nexus Communications Technology)
Effective Date: June 15, 2026
Review Cycle: Annual or upon change in applicable law
1. Policy Statement
Nexuscomm LLC ("Nexus," "we," "our," or "the Company") is committed to full and timely compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local minimum wage and prevailing wage laws. Nexus ensures that all employees and covered subcontractors are compensated at or above legally required rates, and that workers on public works and government-funded projects receive the wages, benefits, and working conditions mandated by applicable prevailing wage determinations.
2. Minimum Wage Compliance
2.1 Federal Minimum Wage
Nexus complies with the federal minimum wage established under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), currently $7.25 per hour. Nexus pays all non-exempt employees at or above this rate unless a higher rate is required by state or local law.
2.2 Illinois Minimum Wage
All employees working in the State of Illinois are paid at or above the Illinois minimum wage as established by the Illinois Minimum Wage Law (820 ILCS 105). The current Illinois minimum wage is subject to annual indexing increases and is published by the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL). Nexus monitors and updates pay rates accordingly.
2.3 Local Minimum Wage Ordinances
Where Nexus employees perform work in municipalities with minimum wage ordinances that exceed the state rate (such as the City of Chicago or Cook County), Nexus complies with the applicable local rate for all hours worked within that jurisdiction.
2.4 Overtime
Non-exempt employees who work more than 40 hours in a workweek are compensated at one and one-half (1.5×) their regular rate of pay in accordance with the FLSA and the Illinois One Day Rest in Seven Act. Nexus does not engage in unauthorized wage deductions or off-the-clock work arrangements.
3. Prevailing Wage Compliance
3.1 Applicable Law
Nexus performs work on public works projects subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130) and, where applicable, the federal Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. § 3141 et seq.) and related acts. On all covered projects, Nexus pays employees the applicable prevailing wage rate for the craft or trade classification in the county where the work is performed.
3.2 Wage Determination
Prior to commencing work on any public works project, Nexus's project management team obtains the applicable prevailing wage determination from:
- The Illinois Department of Labor (for state-funded projects) at labor.illinois.gov
- The U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division (for federally funded projects) at sam.gov
Wage determinations are reviewed at each project start and upon any posted updates from the applicable agency.
3.3 Certified Payroll
On federally funded projects subject to the Davis-Bacon Act, Nexus submits certified payroll reports (U.S. DOL Form WH-347 or equivalent) as required by the contracting agency. Records are retained for a minimum of three (3) years following project completion.
3.4 Fringe Benefits
Where prevailing wage determinations include required fringe benefits, Nexus satisfies such obligations either through bona fide benefit plans or by paying the applicable fringe benefit rate as a cash supplement to the base wage rate, as permitted by applicable law.
3.5 Subcontractor Compliance
All subcontractors engaged by Nexus on public works projects are required by contract to comply with applicable prevailing wage requirements. Nexus reserves the right to audit subcontractor payroll records and may terminate any subcontractor agreement where non-compliance is identified and not promptly remediated.
4. Anti-Retaliation
Nexus strictly prohibits retaliation against any employee who inquires about wages, files a wage complaint with a government agency, or participates in a wage-related investigation. Any employee who believes they have experienced wage violations or retaliation should contact Human Resources immediately.
5. Reporting Wage Concerns
Employees with questions or concerns regarding their wages should contact:
Nexuscomm LLC — Human Resources / Payroll

Employees may also file a wage complaint directly with the Illinois Department of Labor at labor.illinois.gov or the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division at dol.gov/agencies/whd.
6. Record-Keeping
Nexus maintains complete and accurate payroll records for all employees in accordance with FLSA, Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, and Davis-Bacon Act requirements. Records are retained for a minimum of three (3) years and are available for inspection by authorized government agencies upon request.
7. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually and updated whenever changes to applicable federal, Illinois, or local wage laws take effect.
