To the facility directors, IT leaders, clinical operations teams, GCs, architects, and procurement officers who have ever picked us — and to the ones still deciding:

I started in this business because I wanted to build things that worked. Not "worked at handoff." Worked at 2 a.m. on a Saturday when a nurse needed to call a code. Worked through a thunderstorm in February when the head-end is sitting in a closet nobody's looked at in three years. Worked the day after the warranty expired the same way it worked the day it was commissioned.

Most low-voltage and ICT companies will tell you they do that. Not many actually mean it. The difference is rarely the wire or the radio or the head-end. The difference is whether the people on the truck care about the work after they leave your site.

That's the company we set out to build, and that's the company I get to lead today.

Here's what four decades in this industry has taught me, and what I want you to know about Nexus before you decide whether to work with us:

Healthcare buyers deserve more than a salesperson. When a hospital or a skilled nursing facility calls us, the first conversation isn't about a product. It's about a workflow — how a med pass actually runs, where the gaps in coverage create risk, what the surveyor wrote up last cycle. Our engineers shadow the work before they design for it. That's not a sales tactic. It's the only way the system you end up with actually fits the job.

Cooperative buyers deserve a partner who knows the rules. The procurement side of this business has changed more in the last ten years than the technology has. If you're buying through Sourcewell, GSA, a state contract, or a healthcare GPO, you should not have to teach your vendor how their own contract works. We're the vendor who already knows.

Multi-site operators deserve a program, not seven projects. If you run a portfolio — a chain of senior-living communities, a hospital system, a hospitality group, a PE-backed roll-up — you should have one phone number, one PM, one playbook. We were built for that.

Everyone deserves a clean handoff. Record drawings. Training videos. A parts list. An escalation matrix. The system you can run yourself if you want to, and a managed-service path if you don't.

I owe a lot of people for what this company has become — the early customers who took a chance on us, the engineers who chose to spend their careers here, the field crews who do the work nobody sees, and my family. I owe them honesty in how we run the business, and I owe you honesty in how we run yours.

If you're picking an ICT, nurse call, or physical security partner, you have options. Some of them are good. Pick one who answers the phone at 2 a.m. without you having to be a big enough customer to deserve it.

That's us. That's the bar.

Thanks for reading,
