When should you assess managed ICT?
The short answer
Assess managed ICT before a support contract renews, a site opens or changes ownership, or equipment approaches the end of its supported life. Recurring outages, unclear escalation, incomplete documentation, and inconsistent service across locations are also useful triggers. An assessment should identify corrective work and clarify who owns support after the changes.

Look for operational gaps
A network can be online while its support model is weak. Missing administrative access, no configuration backups, recurring Wi-Fi complaints, and unresolved carrier incidents can all signal a need to review coverage before the next outage.
Start before these decisions
- Managed service, internet, or equipment agreement renewal
- Acquisition, expansion, renovation, or opening a new location
- Network, camera, access control, or voice system refresh
- A change in internal IT staffing or third-party support
- Repeated incidents without documented root causes and follow-up
